My name is Darren Sweet. My son & I
live together with my beautiful wife in the cozy city
of Penticton, BC, Canada. The lakes are clean, people friendly and life is
wonderful. We travel a lot by RV chasing beautiful images.
My full-time occupation is photography, which allows me to travel and
work from wherever I happen to be. Over time we have become PictureChasers.com.
Living our dream of working & traveling when possible, I have been free to develop
my craft further.
Currently developing two books. A guidebook on
waterfalls of Western Canada and a coffee table book celebrating the natural
beauty of woman.
An accomplished darkroom master, I have taught several students and personally
processed mountains of film. Darkroom experience is important in
becoming a seasoned photographer. Have worked as museum/archive
photographer copying & cataloguing images from as far back as the 1880's.
Currently I capture all images in digital format using RAW file formats to capture all possible detail, while maintaining flexibility and spontaneity. Images are stored & maintained in a custom built database containing over 120,000 photographs. Selected images are corrected & polished in Photoshop before printing. |

I have created photographs in waterfalls, forest, caves, farmland, cityscapes,
swamp, lakes, ocean, river, creek, hoodoos, inside tunnel, underground & by
a campfire to name a few. Seeking to shoot in desert, rock formations, abandoned
buildings & structures, lush or rocky creeks, natural hot pools or springs,
caves, views, vintage or unique homes, pools & hot tubs and anything
else interesting.
